What enrichment programs do students participate in?
All students receive instruction in physical education and the arts every week. Each FLACS school offers a variety of arts programming, including visual arts, dance, and music.

Is there support for second language learners?
Yes! Every classroom teacher at FLACS is trained on how to support students who are learning English for the first time. These students are also supported by English as a New Language (ENL) specialists.

What special education programs do the schools offer?
Every FLACS school has special education teachers who provide support for scholars with learning needs as per their IEPs. Each school also has one guidance counselor. Scholars receive mandated related services (such as speech, occupational, or physical therapy) from the NYC Department of Education or private contracted providers. FLACS offers SETSS programming, but we do not have self-contained special education classes.

Do you provide after-school programs?
FLACS runs some after-school programs at different times during the school year. LPAC, our community sponsor, runs an affordable after-school program (New Hope) located in each of our elementary school buildings that runs daily year-round from 3:30 to 6:00 every day.
